The Practice does not send text messages, emails, or notifications when a prescription has been issued, so please check the NHS App or contact your Pharmacy for updates.
The NHS App may show your request as waiting GP approval, approved by GP, or rejected by GP. If your request is rejected, please check the NHS App for any message or contact the Practice if needed.
Prescription Charges & Exemptions
Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).
The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines. Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.
NHS charges
NHS prescription charges apply unless you are exempt.
The current NHS prescription charge in England is £9.90 per item. Prescription Prepayment Certificates are £32.05 for 3 months and £114.50 for 12 months for 2026/27.
